2012 CONVENTION INFORMATION
FOR
2011 CONVENTION DELEGATES
The Convention
location; Chilliwack, BC - (a suburb of Vancouver, the birthplace of the Elks of Canada).
Abbotsford International airport is less than 30 minutes from Chilliwack and is serviced by Westjet.
This is the ONLY airport that our committee will service with transportation of delegates and their guests. All guests will
need to pre-register with our Transportation committee for pick-up and return. Information will be made available regarding
this.
The Convention dates will be July 24 – 26.
ü The
registration fee is $145.00.
ü Our
Committee has pledged ALL PROFIT resulting from hosting this Convention will be donated to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund
for Children. BC Elks Region #3 (the host region) have endorsed this as well.
ü The average price of rooms is between $95.00 and $99.00.
ü
Our committee has a total
of 300 guest rooms available to us at this time.
ü Our
committee has 85 guest rooms blocked at the Coast Chilliwack hotel and this will be the headquarters hotel for both the Elks
and Royal Purple.These rooms will not be available to be booked directly with the hotel until Grand and Supreme Lodges release
them to us.
ü Our committee has secured up to 215 additional rooms at various hotels
and motels in Chilliwack.
ü Our
Transportation committee will provide transportation to and from all sessions and events, from each hotel and one selected
RV park as well as the RV area that will have dry camping. Other RV parks and B&B's will not be serviced by our Transportation
committee.
ü Our committee has organized a golf tournament for Monday, July 23rd
the price will be approximately $60.00 plus taxes, including transportation to and from the course, golfing,
cart, lunch, dinner and prizes Details will be sent to Lodges at a later date.
ü Our committee will organize a local tour for Monday July 23rd,
for the non-golfing delegates and guests.
ü Lunches
and coffee breaks for the Elks delegates and guests will be available at the session site. A package will be put together,
including all breaks and lunches. The packages will reflect the Host committee's cost
ü
Royal Purple delegates
and guests will have the option of having lunch in the Coast Chilliwack Hotel, the site of their Convention sessions, or any
of several cafes within a short distance of the hotel. There will be a package price for coffee breaks
that will reflect the cost to the Host committee.
ü All event meals will be provided by off site mobile caterers. The Host committee should be advised of any special
dietary concerns or restrictions, as early as possible.
It
is the goal of our Host committee to ensure that every delegate and guest experiences a positive and memorable stay with us
as we celebrate this great milestone in our Order,

Chilliwack is a rich and vibrant medium sized city nestled in the mountains of the eastern Fraser Valley region in
BC. The community is also approximately 1-1/4 hour from downtown Vancouver and ferry connections to Vancouver Island.
There are many sightseeing and recreational pursuits available to visitors and we strongly encourage
you to extend your visit to our area.
