Linda Bernice Torpy (Shearlaw)

   August 8, 1953 - September 14, 2011

Linda was the Daughter of Norman and Marie Shearlaw and was a loving wife and best friend to Brian Torpy, of Three Hills, Alberta. She was a sister of Fredrick Norman Shearlow, of Kelowna, B.C. Linda was predeceased by her Father Norman  Mother Marie, Father-in-law Edward, Mother-in-law Billie, Uncles Jeffery Anderson, Ron Shearlaw, Doug Shearlaw and Aunts Emily and Doreen Shearlaw. LInda is survived by numerous cousins nieces Kim and Heather and Nephew Michael. Michael shared LInda and Brian's home while attending school. Linda will be sadly missed by her many friends and colleagues in the Royal Purple where she was a lifelong member where she served as Honoured Royal Lady in the Three Hills Lodge as well as many other executive positions. She was called to the Provincial Executive where she served twice as the Central Alberta District Deputy, as Finance Chairperson First Vice-President and Four years ago Linda was elected as Alberta Provincial President.  This year she had accepted the duties of Provincial Treasurer.Linda was a former member and leader of Canadian Girls In Training (CGIT), Brownies - member and leader and Girl Guides-Leader. Linda greatly assisted Brian while active as Provincial and National member f Air Cadets. In Three Hills Linda has served with the Citizens On Patrol, Victim Services (Chair), Palliative Care Executive, Hospital Auxiliary, the Three Hills and District Chamber of Commerce, the Knox Untied Church Women's Weavers of Faith and Meals On Wheels. Linda had many cherished friends, too numerous to mention.
